Arsenal are in tip-top form at the moment. They sit top of the Premier League, top of the Champions League group and have a few top-class youngsters coming through. There is one thing that most Arsenal fans seem to agree on though, and that’s the fact that they look short up top. Olivier Giroud is playing brilliantly but he can’t do everything on his own, and Arsene Wenger’s search for goals has supposedly lead him to Ajax playmaker Davy Klaassen, who has scored six goals in his eight appearances in the Dutch topflight this season.
The 20-year-old, who has previously been likened to Arsenal legend Dennis Bergkamp, is primarily a central midfielder but pushes forward at every opportunity and can also play as an out and out striker.
He’s a big player who can throw his weight around but he has surprisingly good feet – he has created five opportunities and 73% of his take ons, as well as hitting the target with 71% of his shots.
He’s happy to chip in defensively, though, as his statistics suggest. He has made 11 tackles, won four headed duels and averaged two defensive actions per game.
His presence alone up top would benefit Arsenal and his goals speak for himself. Sign him up, Arsenal.
