Liverpool are looking to make it four Premier League wins on the bounce as they host Cardiff in Saturday’s early kick off. The Reds have now scored 14 goals in their last three outings, five of which came against Tottenham last weekend, and have conceded just twice, so Malkay McKay’s side will need to remain well-drilled throughout.
The main man in those three victories has been Luis Suarez. The little South American scored four against Norwich, two against West Ham and then another two against Spurs in the latest run out, as well as creating 12 opportunities across the trio of games.
For those of you who are awaiting to complete betting slips this weekend the game will seem like a home banker – the Reds have now won seven of their eight home games, scoring 22 and conceding just five.
Looking at Cardiff’s away form will only reassure your confidence in Brendan Rodgers’ men as the Bluebirds have won just one of their fixtures away from home, a 2-1 win over Fulham, and have lost four of their other eight.
Cardiff do come into the game off the back of a 1-0 win at home to West Brom, though, and will be buoyed by the fine form of centre-back pairing Steven Caulker and Ben Turner. According to Squawka, the duo completed 18 clearances, 10 headers and two interceptions between them against the Baggies.
They will have their hands full though as even away from Suarez Liverpool are firing on all cylinders. The Reds have made 213 chances so far this season, second to only Manchester City (218) and have scored 39 goals in their 16 games – again, behind only City (47) in the Premier League.
For me, it looks as though Liverpool will collect the three point and with Arsenal playing Chelsea on Sunday they could even go top of the league.
