Despite Arsenal leading the Premier League for some time earlier in the season, they are now left scrapping for fourth place. Their shake up looks to be already getting underway however, as the Mirror are linking them with a double raid on Real Madrid. The pair that the Gunners are being linked to are Casemiro and Alvaro Morata. But who are they, and what could they offer?
I’ll start with Morata, as he is better known than the Brazilian midfielder. Morata has made 18 appearances in La Liga this season, though 17 has been as a substitute, and has scored six goals.
He’s a target-man who is exceptional in the air, but his link up play is in need of improvement.
He is a natural finisher and I think the Gunners would benefit from him massively.
Casemiro is a 22-year-old sitting midfielder who has made nine La Liga appearances this season. He likes to be in control of possession and will often demand the ball from his centre-backs, before setting off up field or spraying a pass around the pitch.
He already has five caps to his name for the Brazil national side and for me would be an extraordinary signing.
Get them in, Arsene.
