Regardless of having no manager in place, Manchester United apparently want to get their transfer business kicking ahead of the summer window. Reports are suggesting that one of their top targets is former Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas, who was booed by his own fans in a recent Barcelona game. But what could the former Gunners skipper offer United?
Moyes struggled with his midfield options all season this time round, and despite splashing money on Marouane Fellaini the move never really worked out for either party. Tom Cleverley is a player who flatters to deceive and Michael Carrick can’t do everything himself.
Fabregas is a player who can link with the attackers and is someone who can open up opposition defences. This season he has 32 La Liga appearances to his name and has claimed 12 assists, which is second behind only Koke of Atletico Madrid. He’s also scored nine league goals.
With creative players like Juan Mata, Shinji Kagawa and Wayne Rooney in the side, Fabregas could come in and be the man to spark everyone’s good form.
He has an 87% pass success rate and, on average, has 1.5 shots per game.
The statistics certainly suggest he would be good addition.
