Manchester United’s strongest area of their squad right now has to be their attack. With Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie, Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck all competing for a slot in the frontline, Louis van Gaal will have no problem with goals. However, I would suggest he offloads Chicharito and take a punt on this impressive frontman.
Alfred Finnbogason is the talk of the Dutch topflight right now after an incredible campaign. The Iceland international currently plays his football for Heerenveen and scored 29 goals in his 32 appearances last season, which gives him a goals to game ratio of a goal every 0.9 games, which is exceptional.
Hernandez, however, is being overlooked at Old Trafford and I see no reason why that will change under the new boss. He is a poacher who needs to fit into the correct system, but with van Gaal’s 4-3-3 likely to come into play I can’t see that happening.
Finnbogason is 25 years of age and has scored 59 goals in his 66 games for the club in total. Van Gaal will certainly have seen this and I think he should make a move for him this summer.
