Players saluted by Villas-Boas

Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas described his players as ‘heroes’ following their exit from this seasons Europa League to the hands of Swiss side Basel on penalties.

The 35-year-old claimed that his side had shown other Premier League sides how to approach and play in a competition that, in the past, has been heavily criticised.

Hazard’s ‘ITK’ it seems

Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard today told the world what they already knew, that his Spanish team mate ‘El Nino’ or Fernando Torres is heavily criticised.

Whatever possessed Eden Hazard to ‘reveal’ this obvious information is beyond me, but nonetheless he did.

Portsmouth’s new start

After years of financial uncertainty, relegation after relegation and blog after blog by me, my beloved Portsmouth are finally on the mend.

The Portsmouth Supporters Trust or the PST (if you prefer acronyms) yesterday agreed a deal with previous owner Balram Chanarai for the sale of Fratton Park – thus paving the way for the PST to take over, fully.

Wigan’s woeful support

As we know, Wigan Athletic have reached their first ever FA Cup semi-final at the new Wembley, allbeit against Millwall.

Nonetheless a visit to Wembley is a special day for any club and its supporters, it’s a day of celebration regardless of the end result (but it’s better when you win).

I am a Portsmouth fan, I’ve been to Wembley several times and each time has been as special as the last, bar the Charity Shield of course.

Dortmund fans are better than Wigan’s, says me.

Football has been the real winner this week, Champions League football to be precise.

This weeks fixtures have had it all; last minute goals, offside goals, normal goals, great goals, goals.

But Wednesday’s meeting between Borussia Dortmund and Malaga didn’t just have four different types of goal, it had ‘art’ handmade by Dortmund’s finest.

Monsieur Barton

Martin Luther King, Barack Obama and Jesus himself are all examples of fantastic speakers. When they speak, people will stop and listen.
