Speculations suggest that there might be a swap deal to bring the French national to Old Trafford in exchange for former Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes plus a sum of £25m.


The Red Devils want to use the Spanish goalkeeper as a bait to lure the Spurs stopper away from White Hart Lane in case if their number one keeper David de Gea confirms his departure from England.

The Mail further adds that Spurs wanted Valdes as a potential replacement for the former Lyon man if he was to leave them. However, now United have played their cards well and will look to combine the deals together.

Valdes has not received much game time since his arrival at the club, under Dutch boss Louis van Gaal and will surely be keen for a new challenge next season.

Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund have now confirmed that midfield superstar Ilkay Gundogan has asked to leave the club at the end of the season. “There will surely be some changes to the team this summer. Maybe more changes than in recent years. But we won’t radically change our team.”

Also Dortmund’s chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke had previously stated,

“If Ilkay tells us he doesn’t want to extend, then we’ll sit down and discuss it. But that hasn’t happened yet.”

Moreover, the Red Devils have also been chasing £20m-rated Depay and the Sunday World stated that an agreement has been reached to get both players, at the end of the season.

The report further claims that though agreements have been reached, the pair will only move to Old Trafford in the summer.
