It’s been well documented that Fergie has placed a goalkeeper at the top of his wish list this summer.

Assuming Real Madrid and Schalke 04 don’t provide insane comebacks next week we are staring at a Manchester United vs. Barcelona final at Wembley.

It’s been a long fourteen months for Aaron Ramsey, certainly one the young Welshman will never forget.

The 20 year-old, who Arsenal paid £4.8m for from home-town side Cardiff back in 2008, will have felt like a very long journey had finally ended this afternoon.

With relegation looming the PFA Player of the Year could on his way to the Eastland’s or to local rivals Tottenham.

The German goal keeper looked set to sign for Bayern Munich in the summer, but with talks between the two clubs stumbling, Arsene Wenger looks set to take full advantage.

Both players have been instrumental to Tottenham’s success this season, with Champions League football unlikely, Fergie believes he can snap up the ambitious pair.

The young Spaniard burst onto the scene in 2007 and much was expected from the centre forward, but has failed to live up to the promise which much expected from him.
