Pacey Winger Says “NO” To A Possible Chelsea Return

Chelsea completed quite a few deals on deadline day, which saw players come in and go out of the club, as the deals finalized at the last minute. One deal which was completed that day was the away move of Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah who completed a move to Fiorentina in exchange for Columbian Juan Cuadrado who made the switch to Stamford Bridge. Now recently, the former Basel man has revealed that he has no interest in returning to his parent club Chelsea after joining Fiorentina on loan. The Egyptian who moved to the Serie A side on a temporary deal until the end of the season recently made this statement, as he is happy with his new club and the decision to move away.

Salah admitted that his stay in London was not the best and also revealed he’s got no intention of returning to The Premier League side when his loan move expires. Salah was not used on a regular basis by manager Jose Mourinho who had other talented midfield options to fill in that spot. Since his arrival at Chelsea in the 2014 January window, Salah had made a total of just 13 appearances, netting merely twice. In th recent press conference at his Fiorentina unveiling, the superstar winger said,

“At the moment I don’t intend to return to Chelsea.”

“I want to do well with Fiorentina. I spoke with [Chelsea manager Jose] Mourinho and told him I wanted to leave Chelsea and he was fine.”

“The Italian League is of a high standard, I think that those [such as Cuadrado] do it simply to broaden their horizons and have new experiences.”

Chelsea are currently on top of the table with a five point lead and face an Aston Villa side today. Mourinho would be determined to maintain that lead and not slip up, as he aims at lifting the Premier League title once again.

January Transfers: Chelsea On The Verge Of Completing Negotiations For Superstar Winger

According to reports, Chelsea are about to finalize negotiations with Italian giants Roma about the transfer move for Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah. The 22 year old, former Basel man, who moved to Chelsea in 2014, has only played a total of 13 games till date and managed to score twice. This has not impressed manager Jose Mourinho, who is looking to win as much silverware as possible this season with the Blues, after a less fruitful previous campaign.

Reportedly, The Blues are looking to make a move for Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado. The 26 year old was quite impressive in the World Cup and had caught the attention of many clubs across Europe and Chelsea in particular are keen in acquiring his services. In order to fund a move for the Columbian, the Portuguese chief will have to offload Salah first. This is one of the main reasons that Chelsea are keen on finalizing a deal with the Italians, who have shown a strong interest in him.

Chelsea are hopeful to cash in on him and hopefully  a deal will be agreed upon between the two clubs. However, according to Guardian, the Egyptian is set for a 6 month paid loan for  £550,000 and Roma will have an option to buy him permanently in Summer for a fee of around £11m.

Unused Chelsea Star To Make Serie A Switch? Agent Confirms Talks But Mourinho Wants To Block The Deal

The agent of Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah admitted that he held talks with Italian giants Roma to secure a move for his client.

Kronenberg said,

“It is very likely he will leave Chelsea on loan, I spoke to Roma, but the cost of the operation is very high. He is on big wages at the moment and would like to maintain them. We will wait and see what happens.”

The former Basel forward has been linked with many big clubs across Europe over the past few months, but a deal has not been finalized yet. Premier League side Queens Park Rangers, who at present are in the relegation zone were also at one point, quite interested in acquiring Salah from their domestic rivals. The 22 year old has been looking for a move away in January with the lack of playing opportunities he has received at the club, this season.

Roma themselves have been quite interested in adding more quality and would definitely love to grab this opportunity with both hands. The Egyptian has made 13 appearances since his move to Chelsea and has managed to score just twice. He has failed to make any sort of impression in Chelsea shirt this season due to the lack of opportunities at the Bridge. With a list of Chelsea superstars in such prime form this season, a move away looks quite eminent , as the youngster has made a mere three appearances in the Premier League for the Blues.

Jose Mourinho has not been able to find a regular place for the young winger in his first team but the Portuguese manager is set to block any potential move due to concerns over lack of team depth.

Mourinho said after Swansea game,

“He can’t leave, I have 20 players today with Didier [Drogba] a bit ill and [Cesar] Azpilicueta injured,”

“I had all my players here today, just [Nathan] Ake in the stands.”

“I have a very short squad, I need everybody. For Salah to leave someone has to come, and I don’t think we are going to let Salah go on loan and then spend some money to bring somebody else in.”
