Samba & Co earn unlikely point in the bid for survival

With a run of 0 wins in 6 and a trip to the ground in which Rovers had previously conceded 18 goals in 4 games, many would assume before the game that they were doomed, myself included, but Blackburn proved what a crazy league this is by securing a 0-0 draw with 10 men for the last 15-20 minutes, a point which was so vital as well as unlikely.

Rovers deserved their point with a good defensive performance most notably when Martin Olsson threw his body in the way of a shot showing how committed the players were, it wasn’t attack after attack from Arsenal however as they looked woeful and Rovers themselves came close to scoring a couple of times, a shaky moment from Almunia as he struggled with a shot from David Hoilett and a Steven Nzonzi header that went extremely close had he not clashed with captain Christopher Samba he would of got a better contact and direction on the ball just before receiving his red card.

Not only is the point vital but it also makes the team spirit better and will give those players a huge bit of confidence going into the Birmingham at home game next week, it also makes the job for Blackburn that little bit easier as perhaps 2 wins at home and a draw away should see them playing in the Premier League again next year, what do I know though ey, I thought Arsenal would beat Rovers 3-0! This league gets stranger and stranger every week!
