Blackburn Rovers vs Birmingham City

Blackburn Rovers vs Birmingham City Saturday 9th April 2011 ko 3pm

Blackburn held on to a vital point last week at the Emirates and Rovers fans will be hoping that the performance will give their players confidence into their weekend game against Birmingham City.

This game has been labelled as a six pointer as both teams have 34 points and the same goal difference, the only difference is that Blackburn have played a game more so they really need to win the game especially being at home.

For Blackburn David Dunn returns from a hip injury and Morten Gamst Pedersen from an illness while Gael Givet returns from suspension.

Steven Nzonzi picked up his own suspension last week against Arsenal with a straight red card meaning he serves his first game suspension out of three. Vince Grella remains out as he misses the rest of the season after an operation on his Achilles.

Birmingham will be without former Rovers winger David Bentley who has a groin injury and defender Martin Jiranek who has injured his toe. Strikers Obafemi Martins and Nikola Zigic are doubts but will have late fitness tests.

The referee for the game is Chris Foy.

Prediction: Rovers will be confident from their point last week and they should make home advantage count, 2-1 to Blackburn.
