Coming Beck to the Prem? Well, no, he’s not

Neil Warnock was a disappointed man.

And now it looks like the chances of Q.P.R pulling off that marquee signing in January will definitely, definitely not be happening.

Well, to be fair, it could still.

But it won’t be David Beckham.

Rangers fans were left in dreamland when the ex-England captain was linked with a move to Loftus Road a few months ago.

But just two weeks ago, Warnock conceded defeat in the pursuit of the 36 year-old, stating that it was highly unlikely ‘Goldenballs’ would be picking out 60 yard passes and wooing the local females into a frenzy in his part of London anytime soon.

Now, reports today state the L.A Galaxy midfielder will be on his way to France when his contract at the MLS club expires in January.

Free-spending PSG are front-runners, with the current Ligue 1 leaders backed by ludicrously wealthy Qatari owners.

It’s alright for some isn’t it.

They’ll certainly need to flash that cash if they want Becks to swap Los Angeles for Paris.

The contract rumoured to have been offered to the former Manchester United man is £11.6million over 18 months.

Now that may sound like a lot, but Beckham has his ways of repaying that amount.

The guy is a merchandisers dream; millions of shirts with his name on the back will be sold around the world, and the interest in French football will no doubt intensify thanks to his celebrity profile.

Even though Tottenham have also been linked, it’s PSG who are odds-on favourites to get his signature.

Just to think David, you could have been marshalling the same midfield as Shaun Derry.

And I know what I’d rather choose.

Sorry Shaun.
