Brazil vs England will go ahead despite fears regarding the stadium safety. The Maracana has been recently renovated ahead of the World Cup next year and had failed to supply officials with the needed paperwork, but this is an issue that has now been sorted so we can look forward to our compatriots being ripped apart by the silky Brazilians. YAY!
Gary Neville has won us all over with his northern charm and incredible intelligence, more the latter than the former, and he has explained his reckoning on how the Three Lions can overcome Phil Scolari’s men.
Neville explained: “Brazil always have wonderful skilful players so every time you play against a player you mention Neymar or Oscar or Lucas or all the players Brazil have – you have to be very aggressive in your defending but also not just one person.
“The whole team has to be compact, you have to try and crowd the space because you understand when you see a player like Neymar in one moment he can turn a football match. He makes the football match look so easy. He can be so close for 90 minutes and then he does one thing and you lose 1-0. So I think we have to be very concentrated.”
Who is this Neymar chap everyone is going on about? A man who has only been watched by those hardy football fans who stay up into the early hours to watch the South American game but all eyes will be on the new Barcelona recruit when the two nations go head to head tomorrow afternoon.
Question is Neymar, can you handle the wrath of Gary Cahill?
