Roma are on an incredible run of form at present, winning their first nine games of the Serie A season. While most people associate the Italian side with Francesco Totti, and rightly so, there has been a standout player in the midfield areas this season in the shape of Miralem Pjanic. However, according to the Express the 23-year-old is a£25m transfer target for Manchester United.
It makes sense, considering the amount of faffing that has gone on regarding the hole missing from the United midfield.
Not only has Pjanic scored three goals in his nine league appearances this season, but he’s also carved out 20 key passes for his team-mates. He has hit the target with 53% of his shots, 55% of his duels and completed an impressive 88% of his passes.
He is an athletic player who thrives in the attacking areas. He has the technical ability to slice through any defence but he also chips in with the donkey work. While Michael Carrick sits and sprays passes out to the flanks, Marouane Fellaini powers his way round the central areas and it could leave areas for the Bosnia international to drive into should a move transpire.
Will we ever hear the end of the Manchester United midfield problem?
