With a squad crammed full of big money talent, Arsenal have a number of players who don’t get into the side. Here are five players who I think the Gunners should send on loan this month.
1) Emmanuel Frimpong
The midfielder is out of contract in the summer so the club can go one of two ways – they can either offer him a new contract and loan him out this month or let his deal run out and see him leave the club on a free. For me, I would send him out on a short loan deal and see if he impresses enough for a new contract.
2) Park Chu-Young
The South Korea international has made no impact in north London and still has a deal until 2015, so I would suggest that it’s time to get rid one way or the other. He spent last season on loan at Celta Vigo so perhaps another stint in the Spanish leagues could be good for him.
3) Ryo Miyaichi
Many thought the Japanese winger would be involved this season, but with the likes of Mesut Ozil, Santi Cazorla and Theo Walcott it was never going to happen. The 21-year-old has already spent time on loan at Feyenoord, Bolton and Wigan in the past.
4) Serge Gnabry
The 18-year-old has already made five appearances this season in the Premier League but is not really in the frame to stake a regular place. A loan for the rest of the season could really set him up for next term.
5) Benik Afobe
Having spent time on loan at Huddersfield, Reading, Bolton and Milwall, Afobe is still nowhere near the first team and I think another loan would do him good, providing that the club was right for him.
