Chelsea sit just two points off the top of the Premier League table right now going into this weekend’s third round of the FA Cup, but there has been plenty of controversy along the way. Jose Mourinho is a manager who enjoys picking favourites, and he has done just that this season at Stamford Bridge. As a result, many players have missed out on game time – here are three players who I believe should be shipped out this month, either on a permanent or on loan.
1) Kevin de Bruyne
The Belgian is one of the most naturally talented players at the club in my opinion but is being wasted. He has hardly featured this season after a brilliant campaign for Wolfsburg last time out, and if he’s not going to feature they may as well cash in.
He has such a bright future ahead of him, though, I would rather see him go on loan.
2) Ryan Bertrand
I can’t see the full-back ever really holding down a place at Stamford Bridge with Ashley Cole still going strong, Cesar Azilicueta able to play there and Luke Shaw being a Chelsea fan. I think offloading the defender would be a smart move.
3) Demba Ba
The former Newcastle forward obviously isn’t going to make an impact at the club and is better off leaving for first team football. It would allow the Blues to recoup some money for him and spend it elsewhere.
