David Moyes has been sacked after 10 months in charge of Manchester United, but Borussia Dortmund’s Jurgen Klopp has come out and said he doesn’t want the job. Here are three reasons why United will regret not getting him in.
1) Aggressive, attacking football
Klopp is a manager who knows what he wants and demands the maximum effort from all of his players.
Since taking over at Borussia Dortmund he has won two Bundesliga titles, two cup competitions and was runner up on last year’s Champions League, and that has been due to his aggressive, attacking football.
It’s a stance that fits in at United, and for me it would have been the perfect fit.
2) Patience
Klopp has been at the Westfalenstadion since 2008 and he has slowly but surely built a team that is one of the best in Europe.
Stars like Ilkay Gundogan, Robert Lewandowski, Mario Gotze and Marco Reus have made their name under the coach, and although some have now left the club, Klopp’s patience is something that would have really benefitted the Red Devils.
3) Character
Klopp isn’t scared to make decisions, unlike Moyes. His sides go all out attack from the start and if there is something that needs to sorted, then he will sort it. Unlike Moyes.
His character spreads into his players as they chase everything down and always work harder than their opponents.
