Last season’s runners-up Liverpool have had a mixed bag of results so far this campaign. 2 wins and 2 defeats have left the Reds chasing Chelsea who lead the table with a perfect start to their season. Here is a look at the 5 things that stick out the most from Liverpool post-Luis Suarez:-
1.Raheem Sterling
Arguably the best teenager in World Football – 19 year old Raheem Sterling has gone from promising academy youngster to becoming a mainstay for club and country in just 2 seasons. If the void left by the departure of Luis Suarez needed to filling, Raheem Sterling has done a fantastic job of doing his bit so far this season. A key component of Brendan Rodgers’ side, Sterling’s pace, trickery and fearlessness makes him one of the most exciting players to watch in the country. Such has been the meteoric rise in stature of the Liverpool youngster that after having played in both of England’s games during the international break, Sterling has featured in both of Liverpool’s games in the space of a week. Saving the 19 year old from a burnout, Brendan Rodgers will have to tread mighty carefully not to over-play the teenager and risk injury. As of now, Liverpool seem to have found a new name to sing about – Raheem Sterling.
