Transfer Wire: Chelsea Play-maker Rubbishes Lionel Messi Rumours

Chelsea have been chasing Barcelona and Argentine superstar Lionel Messi all through this season according to speculations that have been gone around. Though the Blues have been denying reports of a possible move for the Argentine star, recent reports have suggested otherwise. Now, his former Barcelona teammate and friend, Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas in an interview has totally dismissed any truth in the rumours that the superstar will be making a move to the Premier League as he is happy at the Spanish club. Previously it was Fabregas who had in a interview said that he would love to see Messi at Stamford Bridge and once again playing alongside him.

The interest for the Premier League leaders was re-ignited last week when Messi was benched for their game against Real Sociedad, which Barcelona ended up losing 1-0, letting an opportunity slip from their hands to go on top of the La Liga points table. Also the fact that Messi was absent from training on Monday had added fuel to the speculations of a possibility that he might be unhappy at the club.

With so much going on, the news of Messi following Chelsea on social media had also spread like wildfire. Finally, Cesc Fabregas has commented in response to all this, about the 27-year-old’s future by saying that he is quite happy in Spain and has no intention in following him to Stamford Bridge. In the recent interview, Fabregas told television show Al Primer Toque, “Leo is happy at Barça and Barça are happy with him. All of this is simpler and more normal than what has been mounted with Leo following Chelsea on Instagram. Messi started to follow me out of respect, I guess. I also currently follow other teams.”
