Manchester United Transfers – Talented Winger Set For January Exit

Manchester United Transfer News

Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj is set to for a loan move in the upcoming January transfer window with Everton being mooted as the possible destination.

According to reports, the Belgian will move to Everton until the end of the season in order to get some game time that he has sorely missed this season. The teenager has been restricted to just 10 games in the Premier League with most of them being substitute appearances.

Earlier in the month, Januzaj was being linked with a move to Real Sociedad where David Moyes, his former manager, is currently managing, but Sociedad have denied making an offer or even having any sort of interest in him. Everton under Roberto Martinez have made some really shrewd loan signings in the last few transfer windows and could continue to do so as the club operate within a strict budget. The presence of a few Belgian players in the squad could help Everton in signing Januzaj, be it on a temporary basis.

The likes of Gareth Barry, Gerard Deulofeu and Romelu Lukaku were signed on loan last season and performed well. With Everton struggling to find good form this season, Martinez could add some fresh faces come January. However, he will face competition from Inter Milan and PSG. Inter under new manager have been linked with a host of players as they are trying to build a younger squad.

Januzaj burst into the scene last season under Moyes and had an impressive campaign as he had four goals and three assists to his name in 27 appearances despite being only 18 years of age. He was expected to continue his good form this season, but unfortunately he hasn’t fit into Louis Van Gaal’s demanding tactics so far. The Dutchman has preferred Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia over Januzaj this season in a 3-5-2 formation where the wing backs need to do a lot of work.

Senior Officials At Manchester United Talk About Youngster’s Loan Move

Manchester United have decided against loaning out their winger Adnan Januzaj despite the fact that he has seen very little game time this season. The teenager featured in a lot of games for his side last season under David Moyes but has found opportunities hard to come by this season as manager Louis van Gaal has preferred the likes of Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young ahead of the Belgian.

According to The Times, United representatives are not entertaining the idea of loaning him out, “Senior officials at Old Trafford said yesterday that Van Gaal had no plans to loan out the Belgium winger next month.

“Real Sociedad and Inter Milan are among a clutch of clubs interested in taking Januzaj on loan until the end of the season, but Van Gaal has not discussed the prospect with the club’s hierarchy.”

Van Gaal’s tactics have limited Janujaz’s chances

After looking at Januzaj’s performances last season, it was hard to think that Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia would be preferred over him, but Van Gaal’s tactics of playing three at the back with wingbacks beside them has been instrumental in Januzaj’s relegation to the bench.

The wingbacks will need to do a lot of work in the system, something that Young and Valencia have done in recent games despite starting poorly. As a result, Januzaj, whose work rate isn’t the best as he rarely tracks back, has lost his spot.

Jaanuzaj scored four goals and had three assists to his name last season after having made 27 appearances. He has been restricted to just 10 appearances this season, most of them from the bench, and is yet to get on the score sheet or assisted a goal.

A potential loan move to Inter or Real Sociedad, where his former manager David Moyes is operating, was on the cards, but that seems unlikely now.

Manchester United’s Belgian duo Marouane Fellaini and Adnan Januzaj are close mates off the pitch and it was visible on Sunday night. Fellaini was celebrating his birthday and his close pal joined him along with Chelsea winger Eden Hazard.

The trio celebrated Fellaini’s 27th birthday with Belgian DJ Bexs Selecta at a place called ‘Inside Knokke’, a nightclub that is operated by Hamza, the big Belgian midfielder’s brother. They took to the stage and danced a little as well!

Fellaini and Januzaj have become good mates after the former’s move to United over an year ago. After Januzaj decided that he was going to represent Belgium, there were a lot of players who needed convincing that he truly belonged there, with Kevin Mirallas being one such player. However, Fellaini has helped the youngster to fit in and even considers him as a brother.

Fellaini and Januzaj have featured more for United off late with Fellaini impressing more. The former Everton man has found a sudden rise in form after his goal against West Brom in his side’s 2-2 draw against them a few weeks ago and has been a key player in the midfield since then.

You can see the Video of the party here.

Meanwhile, Fellaini have been under severe scrutiny for his controversial incident when he appeared to elbow Liverpool’s Joe Allen during Belgium’s 0-0 clash against Wales. Although he has escaped from UEFA’s punishment for his activities, former AC Milan and Croatia star Zvonimir Boban has blasted the Manchester United midfielder claiming that “he can’t play football”.

Fellaini and Januzaj will be hoping to make it to the starting lineup against Arsenal this weekend with the likes of Blind and Carrick ruled out with injuries.

The Belgian youngster came into spotlight after some impressive displays last season under the management of ex-United manager David Moyes. He was probably the only positive to take from Moyes’s disastrous short regime at Old Trafford.

But under the new manager Louis van Gaal, Januzaj is struggling to break through into the starting lineup. He was even forced to play with reserve team where he scored a brilliant hat-trick against Sunderland Under-21 this week.

Former Manchester United youngster Keith Gillespie hinted that Januzaj may leave the Red Devils in search for more first team action.

Gillespie said,

“Unfortunately, with the embarrassment of riches Manchester United have at the moment, he’s not first choice.

“He’s still young though and is learning the game. He needs games to bring out his potential.

“Last season was very poor for United, but he was probably the one shining light in a team which didn’t perform.

“Just look at the players in the team now, the likes of Angel Di Maria, Juan Mata, Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao.

“He’s a winger and I’m not sure he can adapt and play as a wing back. He needs to play further forward. It’s very difficult to fit him in to the system.”

Now, the player himself came out and revealed that he is ready to fight for his place at Manchester United and rubbished all the exit rumors.

Januzaj said in his latest interview,

“Of course, I played a lot of games last season and I’m trying to impress the manager once again and get games again this year as well. I tried to do my best. Obviously, even if it’s reserves level, I always have to show myself and improve.

I got a hat-trick but I think I worked hard defensively as well and these are the kind of things I have to do now and at first-team level. I don’t do it for any other people but for myself. I look after my [performance]. Even if I have to play Under-18s, I have to do it and try to improve every time I play.”
