Sanchez Is A Lot Like Eden Hazard – Blues Fan Favourite Comments On Arsenal And Chelsea Stars

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has drawn similar comparisons between Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez and Blues forward Eden Hazard.

Hazard has regained his scintillating form this term which helped Chelsea to the League title two seasons ago and with eight goals already this season the 25 year old is looking as dangerous as ever for the Blues. The Belgian scored a superb counter attacking goal against Manchester City to wrap up the points at the Etihad with a 3-1 win over their title rivals.

Alexis Sanchez on the other hand has been equally impressive for the Gunners in the front-line; their attack now has a speedy smooth flow about them when the Chilean is in the squad. With 11 goals this season including a hat-trick last weekend over West Ham the 27 year old is really pushing for success in terms of titles at Arsenal.

Despite being used as a striker this season, ex-Chelsea striker Hasselbaink believes Sanchez is a better player when used as a winger like Hazard.

‘Alexis Sanchez, for me, is not an out-and-out striker,’ Hasselbaink told Sky Sports (via Daily Express).

‘He is a little bit between. He can come from wide. He is more dangerous coming from wide. Sanchez and Hazard are quite similar’ Hasslebaink added.

Antonio Conte’s Chelsea are currently leading the Premier League with 37 points while Arsenal are close behind in second with 34 points. The Blues haven’t lost a Premier League game since a 3-0 defeat by the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium in September.

Wow!! Alexis Sanchez Mobbed By Arsenal Fans After Middlesbrough Clash

Arsenal had a great game at home in the fifth round tie against Middlesbrough, which The Gunners won 2-0. One man who returned to the first team, after an injury was Chilean Alexis Sanchez, who is without any doubt, the biggest star attraction at Arsenal right now.

The Chilean international is well aware of how highly he is regarded by Arsenal fans, but in case he was in any doubt about it, he was reminded when he left the Emirates stadium after the FA Cup win. Sanchez’s car was mobbed by a highly enthusiastic set of Gooners wanting autographs and selfies with their superstar, but Sanchez looked in a hurry and cruised away after spending some time waving back at the fans.

(TWEET) Alexis Sanchez Regrets Hasty Return After Going Off Injured In Arsenal’s win over Leicester

Arsenal’s injury list just became a bit longer once again with both Aaron Ramsey and Alexis Sanchez going off injured in the game against Leicester City, which might keep them out of action for a short time period. Despite the two injuries, Arsene Wenger looked more concerned about the Welshman, rather than the Chilean.

The Chilean international picked up a knock on the knee which looked serious, on which Wenger later commented ‘he was not himself’, after the incident and hauled him off on 68 minutes. Sanchez had earlier missed the North London Derby against Spurs and in his post-match Tweets sent out the message that he’d been a bit hasty in rushing back so quickly. Sanchez was eager to play the Leicester game and further added that ‘the love for the game’ blinds his senses at times.

Ozil, Sanchez And Arsenal Fans React On Twitter Following Their 5-0 Demolition Of Aston Villa

Arsenal beat Aston Villa 5-0 and put themselves in the fifth spot with just a single goal difference separating them from Southampton, who are in the fourth position. Arsenal were completely dominant against Villa as Mesut Ozil stepped up and set the tone for the hosts. In the absence of Alexis Sanchez, the Gunners proved that they are no more dependent on the Chilean International.

Oliver Giroud started the party for the hosts with a clinical finish off a fantastic touch from Mesut Ozil. Theo Walcott doubled the lead with a shot into the bottom right corner. Ozil himself scored the third and Arsenal’s man in form Santi Cazorla converted the penalty to make it 4-0. Right-Back Hector Bellarin scored his first goal for Arsenal with a superb finish from the edge of the box.

Forget About Giving Me Rest – Arsenal Forward Alexis Sanchez To Wenger

According to reports in Daily Star, Arsenal’s man of the moment Alexis Sanchez has told manager Arsene Wenger that he does not want a break till the end of the season and asked Wenger to forget about giving some rest to the Chilean International. Sanchez has been in a destructive mood ever since his move from Barcelona to Emirates Stadium took place and is in no mood to calm down.

Sanchez, who was bought for £35 million has been Arsenal’s stand out player with 18 goals from 30 appearances and is single-handedly carrying the team on his shoulders since his arrival. Ahead of the clash against defending Champions Manchester City, Sanchez has revealed that he will be upset if he is left out for any game and wants to play as much as possible. He was supposed to be given a rest when the North Londoners travel to Brighton for the FA cup fourth-round clash.

It would be a treat to watch Sanchez playing alongside the likes of Mesut Ozil and Theo Walcott, who are returning from injury. It was also confirmed that Colombian goal keeper David Ospinia will be the custodian at the Etihad Stadium this weekend. He replaced Wojciech Szczesny, who was dropped following some controversies that had the Polish goalie caught smoking in the showers following a defeat at Southampton on the New Year ’s Day.

Ospinia looked solid during the FA Cup third round clash against Hull City and also in the league game against Stoke City. However, there are few bad news for the Gunners as their club captain Mikel Arteta and defender Mathieu Debuchy has been ruled out for 3 months due to their respective injuries.

Arteta had removed a piece of bone from his left ankle that has been causing him discomfort in the recent past whereas Debuchy, who returned after a three month lay-off is out due to a dislocated shoulder. English striker Danny Welbeck returns to training following his thigh and hip injury but won’t travel to Manchester this weekend.

Goalkeeper And Defence

David De Gea
David De Gea

David de Gea – To say that he has been excellent is an understatement. He has been the epitome of consistency, saving almost everything that comes his way behind a rotating, unsteady defence, comprising of players who have been marred by injuries. He saved so many points for Manchester United this season.

Branislov Ivanovic – Primarily used at right-back this season, his ability to play at centre-back makes him dangerous defensively. Game after game, he attacks and defends in equal measure, often offering a burst of speed on the right to move the ball forward, but moving back in time to make interceptions.

John Terry – True, Ivanovic and he are teammates, but Terry is often the last line of defence that most teams struggle to clear. He makes interceptions on the line, his vision and tackling skills leave nothing to be desired. He is truly a captain, a leader and a legend for Chelsea.

Jose Fonte – Through this transfer window, he lost his defensive partners – Dejan Lovren, Luke Shaw and Calum Chambers – who were his fellow stars of last year’s successful campaign. However, he has adapted this year to new and old teammates, guiding Southampton to eight clean sheets this season.

(PICTURE): Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez celebrates brilliant performance in Twitter with a Selfie

Arsenal beat relegation threatened Burnley by 3-0 in the lunch time kick off at the Emirates on Saturday afternoon. Chilean Alexis Sanchez was again at his very best and broke Burnley’s tough resistance after 70 minutes.  Sanchez added his second of the game in injury time to cap off a fine win in front of the home fans. The midfielder signed from Barcelona has been a revelation for the Arsenal since joining from Barcelona and is already living up to his price tag.

Sanchez celebrated the win by uploading his selfie in Twitter.

Sanchez single handedly ran the Burnley rugged throughout the 90 minutes and showed why he is a real work horse by his ability to cover every inch of grass on the pitch. Manager ArseneWenger hailed Sanchez for the “top performance” and also seemed delighted with the return of Theo Walcott after a lengthy injury absence.

Alexis Sanchez: Arsenal Can Win The Champions League

Arsenal’s summer acquisition Alexis Sanchez has revealed that the Premier League is by far the toughest league in Europe, but at the same time he has found it enjoyable. He also insisted that the current Arsenal side has the potential to win any major trophies (Champions League, EPL, and the domestic cups).

The £35m summer signing had 3-year spells in Serie A with Udinese and in La Liga with Barcelona. The 25-year old said, “Compared to other Leagues I’ve played in this is the hardest but I really like it a lot.

“Before signing people told me how great it was at Arsenal and how many quality players they had.

“Now I’m here I look at my teammates in training and realise that.”

Sanchez has made 12 appearances for the Gunners so far and has been deployed in a number of positions. The Chilean can play either as a left winger, a center-forward or as a right winger. Sanchez however admitted that he likes playing on the left side, “I can run and cut inside on my left foot, although any position is good for me as long as I’m in the team and not sitting on the bench. If I get taken off it’s like taking the ball from me.

“I want to win everything and looking at the coaches and players we have, with their winning and attitude and ambition, we can win absolutely anything,” he added.

The former Barcelona man has had a sound start to his career at Arsenal after scoring 5 times in 12 appearances. Sanchez had a good career at Barcelona but was always underrated in a team filled with star studded names. He was sold by manager Luis Enrique in the summer despite scoring 39 goals in 88 appearances for the Blaugrana; a games-to-goal ratio that any attacker will be proud of.

With the injury to Mesut Ozil, the Chilean will have to shoulder more responsibility in the attack for Arsenal. In addition, the return of Theo Walcott will keep Sanchez on his toes as the England international is quite capable of playing in a number of positions just like his teammate.
