Notts County versus Brentford was never going to provide me with the football story of the weekend – the Manchester derby easily pouched that accolade!

But I did witness the most ridiculous sending off this week. Brentford boss Uwe Rosler was the guilty man at the Meadow Lane after he was sent to the stands for deliberately positioning himself in front of a home player when he attempted to take a freekick in front of the dugouts.

Stupid, doesn’t even come close to describing his actions. But perhaps the most incredible part of the episode came in the post-match interviews when Rosler insisted he had done nothing wrong and would appeal against the decision.

Rosler probably also thinks he’s the most popular goalscorer in Manchester City’s history… ahead of Mario Balotelli, Mario Balotelli, Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko, David Silva and Edin Dzeko!
