According to The Guardian, Arsenal’s German forward Lukas Podolski has arrived in Italy to complete his loan move to Italian Giants Internazionale.

The 29-year-old was pictured arriving at Linate airport in Milan last evening, where he was greeted by a large number of Inter Milan fans. Lukas Podolski, who was not a part of Arsenal’s 2-0 loss to Southampton on New Year’s day due to injury, posed for photos with Inter Milan supporters wearing a blue and black scarf (which resembles Inter’s home kit).

It is understood that Lukas Podolski have passed the medical earlier on Saturday and has signed a loan deal, which will keep him at the San Siro until the end of the season. It is also believed that Inter Milan is all set to have an option to make the deal permanent in the summer.

While speaking on Inter Milan’s interest in Lukas Podolski, Gunners’ manager Arsene Wenger said: “The first proposal was farcical; after, they came back a bit more serious. We will see what happens. Inevitable? Not in the transfer market. It’s very difficult to say, but we’ll see,” just few days after he described “a joke”.

Lukas Podolski says he is Happy

Speaking to Sky Italia, Lukas Podolski said: “I spoke to Mancini and think he’s a great coach. He wanted me and I’m happy to be here. I know Serie A, it’s a very competitive League. I want to help the team get into the Champions League. Do I have a message for the fans? I am happy, Forza Inter and we hope to have a great season.”

Lukas Podolski has featured in only thirteen of the Arsenal’s games this season and managed to score three goals in those limited time. Podolski has been doing well in Europe this season and that is why Inter Milan manager Roberto Mancini is hoping Lukas Podolski to complete his move in time to feature in Tuesday’s Serie A visit to Juventus.
