Iniesta To Arsenal? 3 Reasons Why It Won’t Happen

The Metro are reporting that Arsenal star Santi Cazorla is urging Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta to quit the Camp Nou and join him at the emirates. I laughed as well. Here are three reasons why it won’t happen.

1) Barcelona > Arsenal

Would you make the move if you were Iniesta? Barcelona are a club who will always be in with a shout of winning trophies no matter what state they are in.

He has been a major player in what has been one of the finest periods or play from a single club in history, and to give his spot to someone else for a move to north London seems unlikely to me.

2) Xavi or Jack Wilshere?

Iniesta has a telepathic relationship with Xavi, both at club and international level. It is that pairing that has allowed Lionel Messi become arguably the best player the world has ever seen and I would hate to see that partnership dismantled.

Pep Guardiola once summed Jack Wilshere up perfectly. He said something along the lines of, Wilshere is a good player, but we have hundreds of him in Spain.

3) One club player

Iniesta has played over 500 games for the club he grew up at, and another 50-odd games for their B side. Iniesta is a Barcelona man, and I think he will stay until he retires.

Chelsea Are The Winners Of The Champions League Draw – Here’s Why

With Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid the potential opposition for Chelsea in the semi-final of the Champions League, Blues fans will have been happy for their club to draw the latter. Real Madrid drew Bayern at home for the first leg, while Chelsea will also travel to the Spanish capital, but to face Diego Simeone’s Atleti – probably the best draw Chelsea could have asked for.

With the two best clubs in Europe battling it out for a place in the final, it will be between Chelsea and Atletico to gain the place of the underdog. For me, I think Chelsea will progress.

Atletico have been brilliant this season. They are top of La Liga and knocked Barcelona out in the last round, but they are not used to this success and I think it will get to them over the two legs.

Chelsea’s strength at Stamford Bridge could be too much for Atleti, especially as it is the second leg. We saw against Paris Saint Germain in the previous leg that their home tie made the difference, and I think it will be the case once again.

For me, Chelea are the real winners of the tie. Blues, what do you think?

Chelsea Favourite To Sign Premier League Midfielder – 3 Reasons Why He Would Be The Perfect Addition

According to Paddy Power’s latest odds, Chelsea are favourites to land Ross Barkley – Everton’s superstar midfielder. The 20-year-old has been exceptional this season and I for one would be delighted for him to join the club that I support. Here are three reasons why Chelsea need to go all out to secure a deal for the youngster.

1) Power

Despite his tender age, Barkley is a massively powerful individual who can mix it with the strongest in the Premier League.

On the ball he is able to shield possession, and off of it he can muscle people off it. That’s so crucial to the way Chelsea play, and I think he’d be great at Stamford Bridge.

2) Future of England

Should he sign for Chelsea, then the Blues would definitely get their money back even if he was to start slowly. Barkley is one of the most exciting players currently coming through the country’s system and we all know how much value that heaps onto a name.

3) Lampard replacement

Frank Lampard is someone who will not easily be replaced when he calls it a day. For me, Barkley is one of the few players who could do that, and dare I say it, surpass the midfielder’s success. Lampard scored his 250th club last week, so that wouldn’t be an easy thing to do.

Arsenal Legend Says FA Cup Is More Important Than Top 4 – I Agree

David Seaman is renowned as one of the greatest goalkeepers that the Premier League has ever seen, and probably Arsenal’s greatest ever shot-stopper. He played over 400 league games for the Gunners from 1990-2003 and won numerous trophies, something which he realises Arsenal are in desperate need of.

The former England number 1 has come out to say that Arsenal winning the FA Cup is far more important than them finishing fourth and gaining a Champions League place for next season. I must say that I agree with him.

Seaman said,” I would take winning the FA Cup over finishing top four. Arsenal have been in the Champions League since it began.

“That has – apparently – become nothing. It’s a great achievement, but we want to win something and the FA Cup would be great.”

The reason I would agree with him is that Arsenal fans are getting incredibly frustrated with their side’s lack of silverware. Each season the pressure is cranked up and it adds to the expectations of the club, and in turn makes it more difficult for the players.

Should they win the FA Cup, then I think they could start a new page in their history, with or without Wenger, and push on to where they should be, and where they used to be.

Do you agree?

THREE Reasons Why Arsenal Should Forget About Signing Crocked Striker With 17 Goals This Season

According to reports from the Daily Star, Arsenal are keeping tabs on Southampton’s injured striker Jay Rodriguez. The Saints forward has scored 17 goals this season but his campaign is over due to a knee injury he picked up against Manchester City at the weekend. Here are three reasons why Arsene Wenger and his Gunners should forget about signing him.

1) flash in the pan

The former Burnley man has had an impressive season, there is no doubting that. However, for a side who want to be winning the league, Arsenal need to be looking at a striker who has delivered on the top stage consistently over a long period of time.

This has been his first successful spell in the Premier League and no one can be sure he will ever match this.

2) fans want a big name

Similarly to the first point, I think Arsenal fans expect a little bit more from the summer transfer market. Mesut Ozil signed in the summer and the fans were excited about what he could do for them, but Rodriguez doesn’t carry that same feeling.

3) different type of forward

For me I think Arsenal need a quick forward who can get in behind the defenders. Think Sergio Aguero, Luis Suarez or Daniel Sturridge, rather than Olivier Giroud. Rodriguez is a strong player who is good in the air, but I think Arsenal should be aiming towards a small, more nimble presence.

THREE Reasons Why Arsenal MUST Keep Hold Of Santi Cazorla Despite Recent Criticism

After comments from Santi Cazorla, some Arsenal fans are wanting him out of the club. Here are three reasons that the Gunners must keep hold.

1) creative force

Arsenal are a side who like to play nice football, and part of that philosophy means the more nimble players are likely to succeed, as they tend to have better ball control. Cazorla’s touch is exquisite and he is a main part of the Gunners’ attacking unit. The little Spaniard loves to thread passes to the strikers and this season he has four league assists to his name.

2) flexibility

As well as playing down the left flank, Cazorla function on the right and down the centre of the pitch. Not many players are able to play in all three roles so effectively and to get rid of that would be silly, in my opinion.

He’s a player who is happy to play for the team too, so it is rare to see him take up an attitude if he is in a role he doesn’t consider his strongest.

3) consistent

Since the little playmaker joined the club he has been making things happen, whether that be at home or away from the Emirates. Consistency is key if you’re looking for a trophy, so I think he should stay.

THREE Reasons Why Chelsea WILL Win The Champions League

The semi-finalists for the Champions League are now confirmed – Chelsea will go up against one of Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich or Real Madrid. The draw is on Friday, but whoever they get I think Chelsea will win the tournament. Here are three reasons why.

1) Jose Mourinho

The Portuguese coach has vast experience across European football and knows exactly what is needed to win the competition. Mourinho won the Champions League against all odds whilst in charge of Porto, and then picked up the trophy when at Inter Milan.

If there is one coach who you’d want in charge going into the Champions League semi-final it would be him.

2) Solid defence

John Terry and Gary Cahill are one of the best central pairings I have seen this season. They are half of the Premier League’s tightest defence and have proved to be a tough nut to crack in Europe. Atletico Madrid have Diego Costa, Real Madrid have Cristiano Ronaldo and Bayern Munich have a host of top-class attackers, but I am confident that on their day Cahill and Terry can shut anyone out.

3) Eden Hazard

Although the little Belgian limped off against Paris Saint Germain, the injury doesn’t seem so bad, which is a huge boost to the Blues. So far this season Hazard has scored 16 goals this season and has seven assists to his name.

6 Tackles & A Screamer: Why Patrice Evra Deserves Credit For His Performance vs Bayern Munich

Patrice Evra is a defender who splits opinions across Premier League fans but last night he turned up and had a stormer against reigning European champions Bayern Munich. He looked back to his best in the clash which caused me to have a deeper dig into his performance. So, with that in mind, I jumped over to a number of statistic sites and gathered some data.

Something that has been criticised in the Frenchman’s game is his positioning. Although he has proved himself to be one of the most able left-backs in Europe, this season he has been caught out a couple of times and has no longer got the pace to make up for his mistakes. Last night he was superb.

He had 50 touches of the ball, made six tackles and four clearances.

Ignoring his stunner for now, Evra was also strong in getting forward. His delivery looked much improved and the way he linked up with Danny Welbeck down the left was great to see (as a Manchester United fan).

Back to that goal. After an Antonio Valencia cross was cleared to the edge of the area, Evra pounced and rifled it into the back of the net, via the woodwork.

He’s taken a lot of stick this season, but he deserves a lot of credit for last night.
