Belgium haven’t seen many glory days since the 1980’s, when they reached a World Cup quarter final and a semi final just 4 years later. Further still, they came 2nd in the 1980 European Championships. However, many factors suggest the emerging breed of players will stop this rot of national failures.

Crazy Gang bang on route to right the wrongs

Yesterday saw the return of the name ‘Wimbledon’ to the football league pyramid. After the travesty that saw their club move 70 miles away, the fans of Wimbledon as they knew it had to do something drastic, and that’s exactly what they did. They ditched their league status that for so many years had been the Premiership, and they formed AFC Wimbledon. The rest as they say is history.

Shoddy siblings

It must be nice to be Eric Cantona’s brother. Yes you can tell all your mates that your bro is/was one of the greatest footballers ever, but Joel Cantona also managed to dodge benefits after building a career in football, arguably based on his sibling’s talents. He’s by no means alone, just ask Graham (Carrick), John (Rooney) or Digão (Kaka’s little brother) who all have failed to live up to their brother’s efforts in the game. It leads me to bring you my top 5 brotherly flops*
