Its seems that it’s pretty final that Tottenham’s Jermain Defoe is going to make his way across the pond to play in the MLS for Toronto FC. Everyone here is looking at all of the negatives in this situation, and don’t get me wrong, for Spurs, there really isn’t much good that is going to come from this transfer. Defoe was a positive element to the side that suffered an embarrassing 6-0 defeat to Manchester City this weekend, and getting rid of one of your best players doesn’t seem like the wisest choice. But I’m going to be different, I’m going to flip this matter around and give a few reasons why it’s great that Defoe will be playing in the MLS.

It’s hard to say how Tottenham will fare against the other Manchester Club this Sunday when they travel back home to White Hart Lane to face Manchester United.

Chelsea really are feeling blue after Tuesday’s loss in the Champion’s League to FC Basel. Despite loosing 1-0 with the goal being scored late on, in the 87^th minute, Chelsea still managed to qualify for the knockout stages and are safely through to the next round. Though its great that the west London side will continue on in the Champions League, it was by no means pretty, and they shouldn’t be at all too proud of their recent performance.

I’m a pretty stubborn individual; I’ve been set in my ways when it comes to football. I’ve liked, as well as disliked, the same players for as long as I can remember, and once you make it on my bad list, it is near impossible to make your way off. Some players I dislike for actual reasons, and some, honestly, its just something about them that I don’t like. However, in the recent weeks a player that I was never particularly fond of has not been annoying me so much. Who knows what’s happening to me, but I do know that it is a lot easier to love rather than hate.

I’m sure everyone felt the sting from Sunday’s match between Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur, no matter what team you support. City won with an outrageous final score of 6-0, with goals both in the opening as well as final minutes. So what went wrong here? Did City play brilliantly or were Tottenham out of sorts, or maybe both? It’s tough to say what really went wrong here, but something definitely was not right.

Transfer gossip is pretty much my favourite thing ever! I love to laugh at the ridiculous rumors and get really excited and analyse the ones that could actually happen. January is less than two months away now, so it’s about that time that the transfer rumors will start to make their way around. Personally, I can think that a certain transfer can be an absolute perfect fit, but until I see the pen hit the paper, I don’t believe it. Here are some rumors that I heard about this week and what I think about them.

During the World Cup Qualifying play-offs from the past few days I personally assumed that the matches that would catch my eye would be the UEFA ones. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I was able to catch the Mexico-New Zealand qualifier on television. Learning all of the facts that I did prior to the match, I was fairly certain that Mexico manager Miguel Hererra was making a huge mistake, and that his nation’s World Cup hopes were all but finished. However, Mexico ended up winning that that match 5-1 and it turns out Hererra knew what he was doing.

Well, I discussed it last week and the results are finally in! The winners of the week’s most exciting UEFA World Cup qualifiers were determined yesterday.
